Could It Happen
Here’s an unusual musical video - it’s a scene from The Time Travelers Convention, a new musical by heidi heilig. What makes it unusual is that it’s filmed in Second Life, a virtual world. The music and vocals are “real” though.

Well, I like the song (love it actually!), but the animation drives me crazy. It’s so slow and unrealistic. I hate how the mouths of the characters don’t really move much at all while they’re singing. Good vocals though.
Thanks Harmony
(The animation drove us nuts too but such are the limits of our time/money budget and of Second Life.)
This was mostly a proof of concept video, though, and the concept was to affordably produce a piece of musical theatre that people could see for free. My eventual goal is to produce an entire show on Youtube — although i don’t have a theatre or an acting troupe, i do have a computer and a husband who programs, and i think it’d be really great if people could see theatre without having to pay the high ticket prices normally associated with it.
Not to say we wouldn’t like money or anything. I’m trying to figure out how to apply for New Media grants for musical theatre so we can afford better animation.
But so few people can afford to go to NYC and see a show. Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to see one on Youtube?
Oh additionally, if you really do like the song but can’t stand to listen to it with the animations, I would be honored to send you a demo cd with a few songs from the show (free, of course!) Just let me know
